James M. Cascino Past President
Jim is an Advisor to the Foundation after having served as a Director for many years and its President for five years, with his Presidency concluding in 2011. He has been active in sailing philanthropy for decades, following a notable history in competitive racing with top finishes in the TransPac and Big Boat Series.
Paul Cayard
Having started sailing at the age of seven, Paul Cayard has become one of the best known American sailors of his time. He is a long-time advisor to the Foundation and was influenced by early support and training from programs such as those supported by the Foundation.
Natalie Charles
As a young child in Southern California, Natalie spent time on her great aunt’s sailboat in Marina Del Rey, and today enjoys racing with her husband on their J/105. She has been an active volunteer at the StFYC on various committees and is especially interested in supporting and building the StFSF programs which introduce sailing to underserved youth and individuals who face physical challenges.
Beth DeAtley
From the Washington, D.C. area, Beth and her husband Dick took sailing lessons when they arrived on the West Coast. They quickly became fascinated with the sport and joined the St. Francis Yacht Club. Beth is particularly interested in supporting Olympic sailing, the sacrifices sailing athletes make, and the support they require.
JJ Fetter
JJ has won two Olympic medals in Sailing in the Women’s 470 class: Silver in the Sydney Olympics in 2000 with crew Pease Glaser and Bronze in the Barcelona Olympics in 1992 with crew Pamela Healy. She also was the tactician/starting helmsman for the America3 Women’s Team in the 1995 America’s Cup Defender Series.
Susan Jordan
Susan has served on the board of the St. Francis Sailing Foundation since 2010. She enjoys sailing with her family on the San Francisco Bay and cheering on the Knarr fleet races. Professionally, she is a partner with the CPA firm Mowat Mackie and Anderson LLP in Oakland.
Pam Rorke Levy
Pam, with her husband Matt Brooks, restored and now races Dorade, one of the sport’s most successful ocean racing yachts. Pam has received distinguished service awards from the National Maritime Historical Society and the Cruising Club of America.
Elizabeth Little
Elizabeth is a recreational sailboat racing enthusiastic with a career in ethics and legal administration, and a lifelong commitment to volunteerism. She is an outgoing Director of the StFYC having been involved with, and lead, various Club committees.
Stephanie Martin
Stephanie’s lifelong passion for sailing started with racing Snipes and Lasers on the Mystic Lake, and then Larks for Tufts University. With a background in communications and nonprofits, she was the 34th America’s Cup Chief Communications Officer, and now works with Olympic and Paralympic athletes on brand strategy.
Tom Mistele
Tom is an avid sailor and engages in offshore racing on his J112E. He is a member of the U.S. Olympic and Paralympic Foundation Board of Directors, Chair of the U.S. Olympic and Paralympic Committee ACE Committee, USOPC Ambassador to U.S. Olympic Sailing, and USOPC Consultant to U.S. Olympic Surfing.
Katie Pettibone
Katie Pettibone is a veteran of three America’s Cup teams, two around the world races (Whitbread and Volvo Ocean Race), 2nd in the Nacra 17 Olympic Campaign for Rio 2016, as well multiple Sydney to Hobart Races, Worrell 1000 Catamaran Race, Sailing Arabia Tour and countless international grand prix races.
Krysia Pohl
Krysia grew up sailing and racing on the San Francisco Bay. A former Olympic aspirant in the Europe Dinghy and 470, she has enjoyed racing Vanguards, Snipes, and 505s for fun.
Al Sargent
Al is a lifelong sailor that's competed nationally and internationally, mainly in Lasers, Vanguard 15s, J/105s, and J/24s.
Helena Scutt
Helena is a 2016 Olympian and Pan American Games medalist in the 49erFX. No stranger to foiling, she also campaigned in the foiling Nacra 17 and now races Moths. A grateful recipient of Foundation support since her youth 29er days, Helena’s a graduate of Stanford University and works as a mechanical engineer at a product development consultancy.
Joni Settlemier
Joni learned to sail and race with her brother, well-known sailor Bill Clute. She crewed on husband Grant’s Knarr boat for many years before succumbing to the comfort of a power boat. She has been a member of many committees at the St. Francis Yacht Club and chaired the Women’s Committee.
Sean E. Svendsen
Sean is a life-long sailor who has competed nationally and internationally in keelboats of varying classes and sizes. He’s competed in offshore races including the Pacific Cup, Coastal Cup and the Vallarta race. Most recently, Sean was a member of the St. Francis Yacht Club team which won the 2011 Hinman Master Regatta at NYYC.
Tracy Usher
Tracy has been an avid sailor since youth and raced at many levels, from dinghies, one design and larger sailboat handicap racing. Having begun in Lasers, he returned to them with a passion in the 1990’s and has become a regular on the Laser Masters circuit.
Brad Webb
Brad has been a professional sailor for 17 years, competing in hundreds of international regattas throughout the world. He has been involved in six America’s Cup Campaigns, and is one of the longest serving members of ORACLE Racing.
